This essence is profoundly protective against fear. Sometimes, people or even institutions around us seek to control and manipulate our behaviour by projecting fear at us. This is a fear of what will happen to us if we don’t follow what other people want. The feeling conveyed to us is that dire circumstances or a significant detriment will ensue if we don’t go along with what others want. This projection of fear often goes hand in hand with an unhealthy dose of guilt as well. If so, Bark 22 and 23 together will usually bring the best results.

Relieved of this external projection of fear towards us, we are more able to see our own fear within. Is the fear reasonable? How does this fear affect our behaviour? Does our behaviour have to be dictated by this fear? What would it be like to think, act and speak free of these unreasonable fears?
